I didn’t write this series just because I am a Wellness Advocate with dōTERRA. I don’t want to get into the ‘my company is better and yours is worse, and here’s why‘ debacle. I’ve seen bad blood in both camps and yet I try to avoid saying anything negative about the ‘opposing teams’. This isn’t about trying to make one look better and the other look worse. This is about US, the consumers. This is about OUR community. Advocates for all the EO brands should be insisting to their OWN companies to raise the bar. If we spent more time and energy communicating with our own companies then OUR community can grow healthier. I feel that our energy is best invested in that manner than throwing it into the wind with these endless debates among each other. Hold your own company to a higher standard. It creates a healthier competition between companies AND improves the products we love.

I’ve been blogging and using Internet forums for so long that I scarcely remember when it all started. I’ve ran large ministries, small ministries, created businesses, and been a part of a few different MLM companies to know what I want in my life and what I want to walk away from. The last handful of years has been spent figuring out what I really wanted out of life.

  • Where do I see myself going in the next half of my life?
  • What do I want to align myself with and invest my time in?

There’s always going to be critics in this world, but we don’t have to spend our time among them. I know there’s articles out there filled with negative criticism from bloggers; what a sad display of energy. Dishing out criticism isn’t the same as offering constructive criticism.

Friends, we need to do better for our community.

The Law of Attraction philosophy teaches that like attracts like. Is it any wonder that nasty comments and articles bring out the worst in people? Lets practice bringing out the BEST in each other and in the companies we conduct business with. Lets not be people known for being opponents. Lets be people known for affirming each other.

Advocate by definition means:

“A person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy.”

Do you see the key word there?

“Support”

Furthermore, the words “particular CAUSE” stands out to me.

What’s your cause?

Mine is to educate, network with others, and inspire better choices to improve our wellness.

Tearing down a company isn’t going to manifest anything positive in our lives. I don’t want to be known as a person who “tears down”.

Besides, the foolish will destroy their own ‘home’ (or business) by their OWN hands. (Proverbs 14:1)

Lets be people who BUILD UP one another. True competition can’t be attained if the competitor is abolished from the race. If we omit healthy competition then we miss out on improving, inspiration, and growth. Instead, lets hope the competition is worthy of competing, that they stay in the race! It’s not really winning if no one else is in the race.

The essential oil industry is an exciting place to be right now. More scientists are getting on board with experimentation, improving quality, and marketing it to consumers. We NEED this industry to keep growing. No team wins when the audience is booing them into defeat.

We should be aiming to see this industry GROW, not tear it down with arguments.

While the competing companies handle their businesses, how can WE come together and move forward in the mean time?

What ideas do you have for improving the overall aura of our community?

When leaving comment, keep in mind that I’m looking for positive people with a desire to be supportive and affirming.
